Many Christian women have never led a Bible study. Although I have, when I think about it, it was only when I was in an official ministry position (youth leader or missionary). It seems that many women do not do it outside of a church building because we do not feel that we were qualified.

That is what we are taught.

Whether intentional or not, many of us leaving church feeling unqualified to lead people to the Lord. We were told to bring them to church from the pulpit. Sure, we were encouraged to witness and lead people in the sinner's prayer—as long as it leads to church growth.

Typically, we are not the ones meant to baptize.

We are not the ones meant to disciple.

I remember when my husband and I baptized a couple while on the mission field. I admit I did feel unqualified, but there was no one holding our hands. There was no one else to do it. God stirred on their hearts and we happened to be there.

I then led the woman in the basic first principles of the Lord. At the time I did not feel pressured to make sure a qualified pastor did the job. God has qualified all of us—even if we feel broken and unqualified.

Something is wrong with this picture.

It is not only up to church leadership to disciple others but the members of the church body. We need one another which is so beautifully displayed in the Unshakable Moxie series. We can do Bible studies together. We do not need to wait for an official leader to give us the go-ahead. Church-led Bible studies are an opportunity but if God is laying it on your heart to get together with friends, or women older or younger than you to break bread together and read the Word together—do it!

Unshakable Moxie is a powerful Bible study and 6-episode video series from Our Daily Bread Ministries that explores tough topics including forgiveness, disillusionment, and hardship. When answers do not come easy, these resources press in deeply to see what Scripture reveals to encourage women to grow in their faith amid challenging circumstances. Lina AbuJamra, who shares her heart in this Bible study, is a woman of moxie who draws inspiration from her life experiences and teaches women how to build their own resilient faith. Each chapter contains a QR code linking to the Unshakable Moxie video series where hosts Moriah Smallbone and Toni Collier take you on faith journeys with special guests including Joni Eareckson Tada, Ruth Chou Simons, and more.

This pack includes access to video interviews with women of moxie. You also receive a devotional that goes along with each video, a prayer journal, and Scripture and inspirational cards.

I highly encourage you to break this down into six sessions and not to be tempted to binge-watch all of the videos in one sitting.

The videos are simply too emotional.

It reminds me of a homeschool conference. You go for three days and are hit hard with piles of information and inspiration that you need time to process it all. I remember the first night I ever attended a homeschool conference. I sat on my bed in the hotel room with my head spinning. I had just entered a whole new world with new ways to look at things, process things, and approach life.

I felt the same way when I watched video #2 of this series. I needed to stop, reflect, and process. I was excited about the series after video #1, but the second one hit home for me. I was in tears throughout most of it. I felt I could relate to Ruth as a homeschool mom in so many ways. She is a Christian artist and when she shared the reason for why she got into watercolor painting I lost it. It is for a similar reason that I got into growing cut flowers and creating seed greeting cards and dried flower candles.

Then I saw a scene with snapdragons and dahlias, both flowers that I am currently growing—birthed out of a difficult season in life—a season of rest.

The conversation about obtaining rest in your relationship in the Lord was refreshing, and Ruth's quote: You don't have to be blooming to be growing, truly hit home.

Watching the video and then taking the time to go through the Scriptures and questions is important before moving on to the next video. Then, having other women to share this with in the form of a group study would be your icing on the cake. Order your Unshakable Moxie kit today!

This series was such a blessing to me! I'm inspired, motivated, and desiring to be a woman of unshakable moxie. I love this. Today I started memorizing God's promises in scripture and claiming them over my and my family's life! Thanks for that tip, Joni. Thank you to Our Daily Bread Ministries for producing this…will be sharing and re-watching for sure!Unshakable Moxie Viewer

I’m SO sorry this journey is over. It has seriously been a blessing. I believe my biggest takeaway is (or biggest two takeaways are) (1) God is with us (me) in the messy and He’s not afraid or upset or running away from it! He meets me in the messy. He’s not afraid of my questions. He wants to hear about my turmoil; He invites it; He loves me. (2) Having questions doesn’t make me a weak Christian; it’s precursory to me having a strong faith. I have to be willing to dive in it with Him, knowing He won’t forsake me as I go. In my weakness, He excels in strength. Thank you for thisUnshakable Moxie Viewer
