To be honest, it never seemed important to me for my kids to know all of the names of the U.S. Presidents in order if they knew nothing about them. Many would disagree with me. They prefer to teach their kids a song or rhyme so they are at least familiar with the names. Then, when those names come up in history they are a peg so to speak that the child can grab onto since they remember the name. That is just not me. I thrive more on the living history concept. More specifically living books and living ideas. I would rather slowly go though, teaching my children about each U.S. President, one at a time highlighting their major accomplishments, the years that they were in office, and any notable facts about their lives.
