Creative Journaling

ABOUT  30 DAYS TO PEACE  A Creative Journey to Peace In our loud and busy lives, it’s easy to miss the life-giving breeze of peace. That’s what this interactive journal is for. It’s about slowing down and taking time to pursue and embrace peace. It’s about welcoming the call to be a peacemaker. It’s about finding a peace rooted in faith rather than circumstances and living out that miracle every day. This is an invitation to create, write, doodle, and draw your way into the deep, lasting peace of God.     The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. —Galatians 5:22–23 My Musings Upon first glance you might think that this is just another adult coloring book. It's not. When it arrived in the mail, and I saw how small the box was that it was packaged in, I thought to myself, is this the right book? When I opened it though, I was pleasantly surprised. I...

Jord Wooden Watches (Review and Giveaway)

Subscribe For Invites To Subscriber Only Giveaways! * indicates required Email Address * Spruce up your style with a gorgeous hand-crafted wood timepiece. Consider a wood watch when shopping for your loved one this holiday season.  JORD is run by artists, designers, and marketers who value sustainability, efficiency, and experiential living. They make watches for people who don't just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go. The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.  When you order a watch from JORD, you know you are receiving not only a wood timepiece, but a masterpiece.  When I received my box in the mail, I was impressed with it's size. Knowing that the watch wouldn't take up much room in a package, I knew right away that they too...

Everyday Watercolor (Review)

Everyday Watercolor  by Jenna Rainey is a unique and creative way to teach painting with watercolors.  This book includes thirty days of projects that will increase your watercolor skills. No, we are not talking about color by number kits but becoming comfortable with the brush, colors and techniques involved in watercolor painting.  This tutorial style book has a "learn to draw" type feel to it. Rainey takes you through, step by step, teaching you how to paint using watercolors. She makes watercolor painting seem so simple yet elegant with easy to follow instructions and projects. She includes flowers, deserts scenes and so much more.  The one issue I have with this book is that in order to see what the finished picture is for the day, you need to thumb through to the end of the tutorial. It would have been nice to see what you will be working on before you get started. I guess that sort of thing is personal preference. Like when you are putting together a...

Schooling with a Newborn and Toddler

Schooling with a Newborn and Toddler: Our Week In Review Homeschooling with a newborn and a toddler in the house is quite the adventure. This week I really put my foot down as far as putting them both on a schedule. When the baby was first born I kind of let things slide a bit but now we are getting back into the groove. The baby is finally on a good eat, wake, sleep schedule. This means I feed him, give him a bit of a wake time then put him down for a nap. His naps alternate between sleeping in the swing and the bassinet. He has fallen into this schedule quite well which does wonders to help him sleep longer stretches at night.  As for the toddler, he is all over the place. The funny thing is though, when I put him in the pack-n-play for play time, he loves it. And, this week I have had him having playtime in his highchair too. I was shocked when today he hung out in his highchair for over an hour playing with Play-doh while his siblings sat nearby playing Settlers of...

Healtop (Review)

Purchasing from  Healtop  makes you feel like you've just stepped into a natural foods store, without leaving the comfort of your own home. When their Infant Package  arrived in the mail, it smelled glorious. All wrapped up in  a cute package, I felt like I had just received a special gift, which I did! Upon opening the cute gift box, I found the following baby friendly products inside: Herbal baby powder, natural diaper cream, natural vitamin c, clean (herbal cleaner of rooms) and baby colic natural supplement. Of these five items, the most useful one for me has been the Natural Baby Powder. It helps tremendously during diaper changes and helps keep my little one happy. The colic natural supplement is great as well. This remedy works a bit different than gripe water or other natural remedies because it only takes one drop in order for it to work it's magic. And, yes, it works wonders. My baby is quite gassy at times and one drop of this herba...

Grow Your Own Avocado Tree (Avoseedo Review)

I have one window in my home that gets decent light. I mean, enough light to place plants in and they will actually grow. All the other windows on any other side of the house are just a lost cause. But the good side, the best side, has one perfectly placed window.  We sure get our mileage out of it. Last time I checked, we had eleven plants absorbing the sun's rays through it each and every day. Yes, eleven. Some hanging, several on the window sill and some on a table we slid as close as we could to maximize our efforts. Soon to join the club is this little guy. Yes, that is an avocado seed. And I am working on sprouting it right now. Actually, my kids are. I had my Avoseedo sprouting kit sitting on the counter next to some avocados that were in the process of ripening. Once they were ripened, my kids whipped up some guacamole. I heard them slicing and dicing in the kitchen and when I came back in I saw a bowl of water on the counter with a peeled avocado seed...
