Old Schoolhouse Expo: Mid-Week {Review}

So we officially "started school" this week in our homeschool. Usually I'm ahead of the game compared to the public schools in our area but this year they started early and have already been going a whole week! I've felt a little more organized this year and the kids are enjoying the new set up, which makes things run a lot smoother than last year!

What better way to start off the new year than with motivational speakers to charge you up?! This week, I joined an "Online Homeschool Conference" put on by the Old Schoolhouse Expo. i was planning on listen to the meetings once the week was over at my own pace. I still plan on doing that, mostly with my husband when the kids are asleep. But, the past few days, when I have had a chance, I tuned in while folding laundry or making supper and have been amazed by the quality of these speakers! I've been blessed by every one I've tuned into! It's been set up to run from 1-8pm each night this week, Monday through Friday. Last night though, it went until 10pm which allowed for my husband to be blessed and encouraged as well!

On Monday I enjoyed Heidi St James encourage new moms to homeschool. I know I am not new, but I was encouraged none the less!

Last night my husband and I tuned in halfway through Ray Comfort sharing Evolution vs. God. He then went live to speak and answer any questions through the chat box all attendees have access to throughout the week.

We also enjoyed hearing from one of the producers of Indoctrination. I think this is the first person I've ever heard speak that was so adamant about getting kids out of the public school system and back into the home!

We have found what we have been looking for in The Pencil Grip Inc .'s 24 pack of Magic Stix Washable Markers . These markers are the perfect fit for a homeschooling family such as ours. I am thrilled to tell you about our experience with them! Normally, I do not have a favorable impression of markers for several reasons. For one, as a kid, I remember markers having such a strong smell that it would give me a headache. I know some kids enjoyed the scents but it certainly was not for me. And to be honest, if I had markers like that in my house today, my kids would probably stick them up their nose or something. Another reason I have a distaste for markers is the drying out factor.
