IN THEATERS NATIONWIDE SEPTEMBER 24, 2021

                         Here are Five Reasons to See Courageous Legacy in Theaters this Fall

5. Because You Can: Remember 2020? When you couldn't go to the theaters? Now they have opened back up! Take advantage of this opportunity and go see this movie in the theaters on a date night or with your teens and preteens. By going to see this film in theaters not only are you supporting dedicated Christian filmmakers but the local economy. You are keeping your local theater in business, helping community members keep their jobs, and helping to support the rise of Christian film in the industry. If you, your family, and your church pack out your theaters this weekend, it will encourage them to continue showing films just like this!

4. A New Generation of Fathers Need This: Ten years ago, young men and old were inspired by Courageous. Where are the young men now? Are they married? Raising young children or their own? This is their time to shine and rise up to be the head of their home. What better way than to be inspired by a movie clearly built out of prayer? We are coming into perilous times for the world and a joyous time for the bride of Christ. We need fathers more than ever to rise up and be the men that we will need in this coming hour. As a homeschool mom, I teach my children about the bravery that led the Pilgrims to this nation. What bravery will be required from the men of this hour? Will they need to stand in a way like never before to preserve our freedoms? We need men right now and this movie provides a practical message encouraging boys to become men.

3. It Is Quality Christian Entertainment: We've all seen cheesy Christian movies. I know they try but it just doesn't work. The Kendrick Brothers only produce quality, inspirational, Biblically-based films. They are not a fly-by-night money-making machine but their end goal is changed lives, which is a rare find. I found myself laughing, crying, and being convicted all in a matter of two hours. It takes skill to combine comedy with drama and action the way that the Kendrick brothers continue to do.

2. The Addition of Deleted Scenes and New Footage: The first time I saw Courageous was when it first came out ten years ago. Our church had a showing with a Bible study and our family was moved by it. To be honest, when I was watching the new version, I was trying to see which scenes were newly added. The only scene that I don't recall from the original film is one where I saw two of the Duggar girls as extras! Maybe they were there before but I don't remember seeing Joy and Jessa Duggar before! That was a fun surprise although the scene was a sad one. If you can tell which scenes are new ones, once you see the film, let me know in the comments!

1. The New Ending: This was incredible! I loved the creativity of bringing back the key characters ten years later! It all flowed so well and the storyline just seemed to fit. This was the highlight of the film with some fun twists and surprises! You won't want to miss it.

Original 13 Colonies Fact Cards (Free Printable)

These Thirteen Colonies Fact Cards were created for my kids as we studied early American history. What a pivotal time in our history! Puritans seeking religious freedom, adventurers setting out for a new land, and those in debt hoping for a fresh start—a new life. From the first colony in Virginia, until all thirteen stars on the first American flag were represented, these cards are a perfect review for your homeschoolers. Use them to drill the first thirteen colonies so your child can recite them with ease, and have them dictate the information on the cards to help them remember a small fact about each colony. Feel free to print these out and have your children write facts that they learn about each colony on the back. Go ahead and laminate them, too!    Simply right-click, save, and print to use this resource in your homeschool as you study about the original thirteen colonies in America. Use the facts for dictation, copy work, or discussion in your home. Disclaimer: All co...

Truck-Themed Homeschool Chore Chart

  Use this truck-themed homeschool chore chart to keep your kids on track throughout the school week. With lessons, field trips, meals, and unexpected errands filling up your week, even the simplest chore chart can help your home run more smoothly. At times, kids are excited for the new opportunity to help out around the house and do it with joy. Other times they stomp toward the trash can with anything but a good attitude. Help keep attitudes in check by using stickers, smiley faces, or positive verbal reinforcement as your child completes each task on the chart. For the child who loves lists (and the mom) this is the perfect free printable to have on hand!   (Simply right-click, save, and print)

The Pencil Grip Inc. {Review}

We have found what we have been looking for in The Pencil Grip Inc .'s 24 pack of Magic Stix Washable Markers . These markers are the perfect fit for a homeschooling family such as ours. I am thrilled to tell you about our experience with them! Normally, I do not have a favorable impression of markers for several reasons. For one, as a kid, I remember markers having such a strong smell that it would give me a headache. I know some kids enjoyed the scents but it certainly was not for me. And to be honest, if I had markers like that in my house today, my kids would probably stick them up their nose or something. Another reason I have a distaste for markers is the drying out factor. As a parent of many children this is super frustrating. I finally teach the older ones to put the caps back on when they are done using their markers but then a younger one comes along and just doesn't understand. This then leads to the undue frustration of your child sitting down to...
