The Play Smart Alphabet Bundle, part of the

Timberdoodle Preschool Curriculum Kit, has two books, one for 2+ and one for 3+. These can also be used for older children who need to review their letters—especially those needing to recover from the traditional summer slide. These workbooks are different than other ABC workbooks. They include a wide variety of engaging activities that get kids excited about learning or reviewing their letters.

Sometimes you think your kids know their letters but it may be that they only know their sounds. One of my struggling learners knows most of his sounds and letters and is a beginner reader. He can read most three letter words and is doing well by leaps and bounds. That said, when I pulled out these books and focused on each letter at a time, I was able to see a few gaps. He knew most of his letters but struggled with a few. I was shocked, but thankful. I did not make a big deal about it, I just went through these books which he found totally fun! He was able to review the letters that he already knows while solidifying the ones that he was struggling with.

If you have an early learner, a struggling learning, or special needs child, these books are fun, exciting, and easy to use. With tons of stickers, plenty of cutting and pasting, and coloring, kids love the variety and activities in these books.

Additionally, alphabet cards are included to help with daily review if needed. This is great because if you have a younger learner, you can practice the letters. Once those are mastered, or if your child already knows all of their letters, you can practice reading the words on the back of the cards. Parents can use these however will best meet the needs of their child—which is great!

Not only will your children practice letter formation but there are plenty of hands on activities. Plus, this is not a workbook that is completely consumable. There are dry erase pages to help with letter practice, which is great for kids who may know their letters but still need to work on perfecting their form.

This is an excellent resource available to homeschoolers available at an affordable price!

The Pencil Grip Inc. {Review}

We have found what we have been looking for in The Pencil Grip Inc .'s 24 pack of Magic Stix Washable Markers . These markers are the perfect fit for a homeschooling family such as ours. I am thrilled to tell you about our experience with them! Normally, I do not have a favorable impression of markers for several reasons. For one, as a kid, I remember markers having such a strong smell that it would give me a headache. I know some kids enjoyed the scents but it certainly was not for me.
