An adopted Viking orphan becomes a carpenter’s apprentice to Jesus. The orphan, Oren, fights as a side hustle. His experience training as a carpenter with Jesus as his mentor changes his lifestyle. The Carpenter is a powerful tale of transformation and redemption. Set in biblical times, this film showcases a life-changing journey of becoming a carpenter’s apprentice to none other than Jesus Christ. Through the timeless skills of carpentry, a path of compassion and redemption is found.

The Carpenter is an action film that explores Nazareth in
29 A.D. with music, fight sequences, and a carpenter. Since Jesus did not officially begin His ministry until He was 30 years old, the producers of this film took their creative liberty to envision what life in Nazareth may have been like shortly before His official ministry began. The story revolves around Oren, who makes his income fighting—boxing. After the death of his father, Oren is encouraged to learn a trade in addition to his hobbies of fighting and music. This leads him to an apprenticeship with Jesus—he also meets a girl. 

The draw of a Viking with red hair during biblical times, boxing, and the training with a Mr. Miyagi-type figure makes for the perfect setup for a modern-day film of redemption and hope—almost too good. The cinematography, at times, appears as though you are watching a video game, especially during the fight scenes. I would not be surprised if AI was used to create these scenes, especially the members of the crowd since they seem to have awkward movements at times. Maybe it was the way it was filmed, maybe it is AI, but either way, it does not take away from the movie as a whole. 

What makes this movie stand out is it is clean. You will not hear language or find any inappropriate content. Yes, there is plenty of fighting in this movie, but no more than a good Karate Kid movie. If you like action then this movie is for you! Of course, I am not going to tear apart the theological flaws of this movie because I do not believe it is intended to be biblical but rather set in biblical times—think Ben Hur or The Bronze Bow.

We have found what we have been looking for in The Pencil Grip Inc .'s 24 pack of Magic Stix Washable Markers . These markers are the perfect fit for a homeschooling family such as ours. I am thrilled to tell you about our experience with them! Normally, I do not have a favorable impression of markers for several reasons. For one, as a kid, I remember markers having such a strong smell that it would give me a headache. I know some kids enjoyed the scents but it certainly was not for me.
