Dyslexia shouldn’t keep anyone from reading the Bible. And now, it doesn’t have to.

This Bible makes it easy for kids with reading struggles to read the Word of God. I never understood the need for this type of resource since my older children picked up reading quickly. We always taught them that the end goal of learning to read was to be able to read God's Word to ultimately serve and live for Him. Though we would run into days that were not so easy, I was definitely not prepared to teach a child with dyslexia how to read. It did not take me too long to realize that there was a delay and that dyslexia was the culprit. Surrounded by a wonderful community of homeschoolers and my having job at the time that gave me the opportunity to rub shoulders with experts in the field helped tremendously. I have since been exposed to a wide variety of resources and conversations to help me along the way.

Two of the key resources that helped my child to move ahead in his reading skills quickly were using large print and colored transparencies.

This Bible includes both! What a blessing. Yes, I already have colored transparencies on hand because they work wonders, but none that are the size of the Bible. The ones included with this Bible are the perfect fit. They also have unique colors that did not come with the sets I previously ordered. This is perfect since the reason for the variety of colors is so your child can test which ones will work best. Every child is different and different colors work for different children. These colored sheets help them to stay focused and on track. It prevents the letters from flying around on the page (as some kids describe it).

When asked to read the Bible aloud he has always been intimidated. This Bible is beginning to give him the confidence and I have high hopes that when given the opportunity he will be ready to read aloud with others! Home is a great place to practice and find confidence and I love that we have a Bible that can help him strengthen his reading skills in a safe place. I am so thankful to have been introduced to this resource and hope that you are able to find it useful, too.

The Pencil Grip Inc. {Review}

We have found what we have been looking for in The Pencil Grip Inc .'s 24 pack of Magic Stix Washable Markers . These markers are the perfect fit for a homeschooling family such as ours. I am thrilled to tell you about our experience with them! Normally, I do not have a favorable impression of markers for several reasons. For one, as a kid, I remember markers having such a strong smell that it would give me a headache. I know some kids enjoyed the scents but it certainly was not for me. And to be honest, if I had markers like that in my house today, my kids would probably stick them up their nose or something. Another reason I have a distaste for markers is the drying out factor.
