Light of the World powerfully illustrates how Jesus of Nazareth changed the world forever and still changes lives today! Light of the World is now in select theaters for a limited time!
A Movie for the Whole Family
Here are three things you can count on when Light of the World opens in theaters today, September 5, 2025:
1. This is an entertaining story that honors and celebrates the biblical account of Jesus’ life and ministry.
2. As we’ve seen on our social media, people are anxiously awaiting the beautiful 2D animation used to tell the story.
3. A FREE children’s ministry curriculum, which includes parents’ content for family use. All of this help your kids go deeper in their love of Jesus!
A Team of Experts
As you will see in the video below, The Salvation Poem Project—the independent, non-profit studio behind Light of the World—worked with a team of children’s ministry experts and practitioners to create a six-part kids' ministry curriculum tied into the movie. Meet the team and hear their thoughts about this movie.
If you are a fan of the 1990s golden era of 2D, hand-drawn animation, you will love this movie. Many scenes in this movie were a nostalgic nod to famous scenes etched in my mind from the 1990s. Remember the market scene in a movie set in the Middle East? Yup, a high-paced and entertaining scene in this movie brought me back to that era, quickly. Another scene reminded me of The Prince of Egypt, the way the animation was presented. Though not exactly the same, these scenes brought back memories of my childhood while presenting an animated rendition of the life of Jesus' ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension in a way like no other animated film.
I personally have been blessed to be able to see the Jesus film presented in a third world country. Watching young and old seeing the gospel presented for the first time was powerful and memorable. Since I tend to be old-fashioned and I saw that film work firsthand, if I were in that situation, that would be my go-to. That said, I can see churches all over the world using this new yet nostalgic movie in their outreaches, VBS programs, and community movie nights.
This is the first movie from Salvation Poem Project, a ministry committed to sharing Jesus with the world
