This Bible is a timely addition due to the growing concern of misreading and misunderstanding the Bible. We all have seen verses grossly taken out of context, and friends or family members disappointed or disheartened because they were let down by what they believed the Bible taught. It might be scary to open yourself up again to man's opinion if you were deceived in the past, but if you go into it with your eyes wide open, and chew the meat and spit out the bones, you will see the Bible in a whole new light.
What I love about this particular Bible is that it includes piles of cross-references. It also has keywords in the commentary section in bold to help stay focused. From what I see, no particular doctrine is being pushed in the Pastoral Application Notes sprinkled throughout the Bible, rather they highlight certain texts, pointing you to strengthen your relationship with the Lord.
