Perfect for any homeschool shelf, Grizzly Gears is a single-player game to keep your younger ones occupied while you are homeschooling older ones. The goal? Rotate the puzzle pieces to get out of the woods. With survival on the minds of many kids these days, this is an excellent way to introduce survival skills in an entertaining manner. The six puzzle pieces with adorable animal figurines are not only made of high-quality materials, but are also enticing for little fingers still learning through play.
I have found that what makes this single-player game created by Smart Games unique is that the challenges are organized by figurine. As your child works through the levels, Starter, Junior, Expert, and Master, an image of the figurine he is working with is located underneath each challenge.
Beginning with simple challenges requiring you to only move one character, the challenges begin to increase in difficulty, with the final challenge including four characters. The solutions to all eighty challenges are located in the back of the enclosed booklet if needed.
Even though fall is in the air and my kids are spending more and more time outdoors after an intense heat wave, I still find that organized play time is needed. This will never replace creative free play; I treasure that time, too. Just this week, my son was outside, enjoying the cool air, and was getting tired of the usual options of riding his bike or jumping on the trampoline. So, in a single afternoon, he used a PVC pipe, some screws, and an old ball to create a tetherball court! I was proud of his innovation and creativity and hope to always allow room for that in our homeschool! Even with the world at our kids' fingertips, I have found that structured play is needed even through the pre-teen years. That is why having strategy games like Grizzy Gears on hand is so helpful. I highly recommend adding this to your collection!
